Post Title & URL & slug

The Title and URL of a post are related by default.
When you initially type the title of your post, the post slug (used in the permalink/URL) is automatically created.

THE POST SLUG IS THE PART OF THE URL AFTER THE DATE IN A POST’S URL.

When the default post slug is created, all letters will be converted to lowercase, spaces will be exchanged with dashes, and any special characters will be removed.

You can modify the post slug by clicking the Edit button next to it.
When you’re finished editing, click OK. After you are done making your changes don’t forget to click the Update button to update the post and save these changes.

This is especially handy if, for example, your page title is very long, but you would like aN URL that people can remember more easily.

If your language uses a non-western character set, long post titles can break post slugs. To fix that, shorten the post slug to a single word.

Keep in mind that only the post slug can be changed. You cannot change any other part of the url such as removing the date.

How would I change the font color and background colour of the navigation bar?

To see how the gist of the menu styles in Twenty Ten, check the original stylesheet and look for the « =Menu » section.

You can change the top navigation background and font colors with this CSS:

#access

 }

#access a
 { color: #000;
 }

#access ul ul
       { box-shadow: 0px 3px 3px rgba(255,255,255,0.2);
         -moz-box-shadow: 0px 3px 3px rgba(255,255,255,0.2);
         -webkit-box-shadow: 0px 3px 3px rgba(255,255,255,0.2);
       }

#access ul ul a
      { background: #fff;
      }
#access li:hover > a,
#access ul ul :hover > a
       { background: #ddd; color: #333;
       }
#access ul li.current_page_item > a,
#access ul li.current_page_parent > a,
#access ul li.current-menu-ancestor > a,
#access ul li.current-menu-item > a,
#access ul li.current-menu-parent > a
        { color: #000;

* html #access ul li.current-menu-ancestor a,
* html #access ul li.current-menu-item a,

#branding img { border-top: none; }

ADDING IMAGE

I would like to place a small GIF to the right side of the Main Title.

#site-title span a { padding-right: 40px; background: url(http://s.wordpress.org/about/images/logos/wordpress-logo-32-blue.png) no-repeat center right; }

Replace http://s.wordpress.org/about/images/logos/wordpress-logo-32-blue.png with your image link. Adjust the 40px right padding until it fits with the size of your image.

WP THEMES

Of course, the WordPress Theme Directory can be frustrating in its lack of themes that work with WordPress 3.0. Many of the themes look a little out of date and lots look very bloggy. Here are some trusted sites where you can find free WordPress themes.
